Heart-2Heart, Issue #007 -- The Message of Water January 03, 2005 |
|
Friend of the Heart! Greetings from a very wet Holland where winter just won't reallykick in. It's raining a lot but the temperature remains well over the zerodegrees and the only snow we saw so far melted almost before it hit the ground. When my grandfather died a couple of years ago, one of the books he left me wasabout the harsh winter of 1963. I often thumb through it with my oldest boys asit holds pictures of unbelievable snow sceneries. Walls of snow at the sides ofroad towering over those brave enough to endeavor on some cold mission. And hugechunks of table shaped ice covering the beaches. Whenever I see those imagesfond memories of my childhood in Nova Scotia (Canada) come back to me. Now thatis a winter! However, for those living it in '63 it was a naturaldisaster. I don't have to remind you of the tsunami disaster which sweptover Asia on Boxing Day. No doubt you're receiving countless alerts about howyou can help the survivors, but I just received a message from dr. Masaru Emotothat I really like to share with you. Dr. Emoto is a scientist who studieswater. He wrote a book called "The Message of Water" in which he showspictures taken of frozen water crystals before and after the water was exposedto words, music and prayer. I've dedicated a chapter in "My HappyHeart" to this phenomenon as it also shows the power of our thoughts andfeelings. Not too long ago Dr. Emoto teamed up with the scientists ofHeart Math for an experiment on how heart focus techniques influence water. Youcan soon see the full report on this experiment at my website. What it tells usis how little it takes us individuals to improve the quality of our lives. Ourbodies contain mostly water - about 65% in adults and with babies and childrenit's even more. Generating feelings of love and gratitude is the most powerfulway to influence the quality of water. The water we carry inside and also thewater around us. And with the strong focus of prayer, we are capable of bridgingenormous distances too. So this is a very simple yet effective way for you to offer yourpersonal help to all tsunami victims and everyone involved in the rescue workand other aid. Here's Dr. Emoto's call for your aid:
It's sometimes sounds like a paradox but fretting over any givensituation, generating feelings of fear and anxiety, will not only not solve thesituation, it will even worsen it. The way I use my feelings of love and thanksas suggested by dr. Emoto is to write "tsunami victims" on a smallpiece of paper and hold this in my hands with the intent to pass on love andthanks to them. I then focus on my heart, remember what I'm grateful about in mypersonal life and let this feeling of gratitude expand through my body. Simpleyet so powerful! You can read more about gratitude in back issue #3 ofHeart-to-Heart: TheHour of Gratitude. For more ways to focus on your heart you can read Inspirationfor the Heart. (If you haven't downloaded it already, now would be a greattime to do so!) Wishing you well and hoping 2005 will bring peace of heart andmind to you and your loved ones! Patricia Ritsema van Eck P.S.
