Be conscious about what you say...
Spoken or written words have an influence on your environment. That is also the goal of this book: that you can give its owner a great emotional pick-me-up with your words and images. Do you know the sensational research that has been done into this phenomenon?
The Japanese researcher Masaru Emoto studied the effects of words and music on the formation of ice crystals. He stuck stickers with texts such as ‘Thank you’ and ‘I hate you’ on bottles of distilled water. He also placed water samples in front of the speakers of sound systems and played various kinds of music. After 24 hours he froze a few drops of the water and studied the crystals formed under the microscope.
The pictures of water crystals on this page were taken by Emoto. All the crystals have been magnified to the same degree.

Test the statements for your self
As far as I’m concerned the previous pages speak for themselves. But in case you are doubtful about their reliability then you can do the following test in your own kitchen laboratory:
Cook some rice (or conduct the test when you have some rice left over from a meal). Divide the rice between two sparkling clean jam jars – you should sterilise them beforehand. Boil the lids as well. On one of the jars place a sticker with the words ‘I love you’ and on the other a sticker with ‘I hate you’.
Put the jam jars somewhere in your kitchen. Pick them up once a day and read the written text out loud. If you add lots of feeling to your voice then it works even better. After a couple of weeks you will have one pot with a healthy-looking colourful mould on top of the rice and another with dirty black rotting rice.
Harry Potter versus Voldemort
A few years ago this test appeared in the magazine Educare, with a summons to the readers to carry out the test at home and to send in their results to the editors. Readers reported unanimously that the test worked as stated. One family had thought up their own variation to the test: one pot had a sticker with ‘Harry Potter’ and the other with ‘Voldemort’. They had not given the pots any extra verbal attention but the result was the same!
Of course when you are creating pages for this book from your coherent heart you will not disgorge texts like Voldemort. But it is such a fascinating story that I had to share it with you.
