The Heart is SacredPreface to My Happy Heartby Joy MessickThe heart is sacred. The physical heart tirelessly pumps life in the body. The spiritual heart is the seat of one’s feelings; it hides sorrow and stores joy. The spiritual heart is the home of soul and the Divine Spark within us. In my experience, working in Resonance Healing puts us in physical contact with both our bodies and our hearts. Resonance is our small individual hearts beating in relationship to the huge heart of our Mother, the earth. The healing work is centered in this relationship. We transcend and bring the energy through the process into the person in need of healing. Unlike the mind, the heart is incapable of wounding another but can itself be wounded. Most people I know have a wounded heart. In a world of heads and minds, it is difficult to live in one’s heart. I feel Patricia’s work takes us back to basics. With her help, we remember our hearts and who we really are. Through her skills and creativity, Patricia brings us to a consciousness that allows us to become masters of our own hearts. She shares ways to heal and support, to touch the hearts of others, and most importantly, to touch our own heart. And that ability, to touch one’s own heart, is the basis of true compassion. The heart sees differently, knows differently, and understands differently. To become heart centered is to live an ordinary life in an extraordinary way. It brings us to a different place in our love, in our work, and in ourselves. The world becomes safer, happier, and blessed. I feel that one of our highest goals is to live in our hearts and for our hearts to live together in peace and harmony. In the Sufi tradition, the symbol of an awake heart is a heart with wings on each side. It is my sincere wish that this book helps your own heart discover its wings and use them to fly high into the sky of your dreams. Joy Messick, 2004 |
